NATISCALZI DT
Natiscalzi DT was born from the collaboration between Tommaso Monza and Claudia Rossi Valli, dancers and choreographers united by a shared language intertwining poetry, irony, and a keen gaze on life. Founded in 2016, Natiscalzi DT is a constantly evolving creative laboratory: blending dance, theater, and performance arts, the company explores universal themes through a profound and at times visionary poetics. A prominent presence in the Italian dance-theater and contemporary dance landscape, the company has created works such as Mary’s Bath (Critics’ Award – Palio Poetico ErmoColle 2015, Special Mention – Premio Sonia Bonacina 2016, Finalist – Direction Under 30, 7th Edition 2020, Honorable Mention – Teatro Festival Valtellina 2021); Lo Schiaccianoci (The Nutcracker, Winner – Choreographic Residencies Call, Lavanderia a Vapore 2016 | Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo, selected by CID Cantieri OrienteOccidente 2017); DIVINO (Winner – Toscana Terra Accogliente 2022); Dreaming Costa Rica (supported in distribution by MIC / SIAE Per Chi Crea 2024); COSA HAI IN TESTA? Between 2025 and 2027
For the next three-year period, the company intends to open up to the project “CORPI FUTURI”. The name of the project stems from the desire to reflect both on the human being and on its possible future in relation to itself and to the contexts of life, both environmental and social. It also reflects the belief in the perspectives of the new generations and in the transmission of knowledge to them, which can then be reworked; as well as the aesthetic will to “force” compositional structures into reflections and true choreographic visions. The choreographic thought at its core is the idea of investigating unique dramaturgical structures through experiments of performances that are generative of themselves. Claudia and Tommaso are convinced that, in a time when reproduction is increasingly massive through digitalization, the performative, scenic, and choreographic event must necessarily push itself toward a dimension of shared time and space with a ritual character.
