ZA DANCEWORKS
ZA DanceWorks is the choreographic project founded and directed by Andrea Zardi. A dancer and choreographer, he trained and worked between Italy, Belgium, and Germany. In his academic career, he obtained a PhD at the University of Turin in the field of the relationship between Dance and Cognitive Sciences, where he is now a researcher and creator of the device Dance4Ageing®, dedicated to dance practice for people over 65 with cognitive and motor impairments. As a choreographer, he has created several productions, including Nòstoi | ViewRoom (2018), Autorissimi (2018), Pulse (2020), and has collaborated with national and international institutions such as Fabbrica Europa Festival in Florence, Centro Pecci in Prato, and Prog Q Festival in Avignon. He also took part in Dancing Together, Again within the Creative Europe framework between Georgia and Poland. His work is aimed at uniting the academic and educational dimension with the artistic practice of choreographic composition, through specific interventions on themes that foster a dialogue between practice and theory.

Between 2025 and 2027
ZA DanceWorks presents itself as a wide-ranging production project, aimed at continuing the research already undertaken and initiating new actions. Dance serves as a means to speak about the present — but above all about the future — through the privileged instrument of the body and its dialogue with other dimensions of art. With GRNDR_date no one the reflection on the world of dating apps is carried forward, while with Subversive Bodies the reflection on clubbing and nocturnal rituality continues as a device of resistance against systems of power, a space where new communities can be built. In Echea new technologies explore the aesthetics vaporwave and the sound architectures of backroom, in collaboration with Cinzia Pietribiasi, while Faun/Prelude Gives the spectator a new way of looking at the famous work from the Ballets Russes repertoire.
